Majorities work hard to hold their advantage because fear kindles them and opportunism inflates them. They harness their power-by-numbers and turn the state in their favor. Oftentimes, small minorities rule by the iron fist lest someone else do the same to them.

A ‘plurality-majority’ has the strength and stability of a majority, but also the diverse flexibility of a mosaic of people. Singular religions use majority power to blot out other religions and the people who exercise their ‘freedom of religion.” Religions rarely seem to engender more than just tolerance but true openness to a free democratic ‘market’ of ideas. Those from political sciences will recognize the human inclination to oppress other groups for fear that they will take power and oppress you. Pluralism is the alternative

Coalition governments must ‘assemble’ a majority so that a semblance of ‘control’ can be made. Civic states believe that a common ‘nation’ is needed to unite a state, people, or society lest chaos ensue. However, it need now be one religion, or one party, or one prevailing ‘super culture',’but can instead be and openness to diversity. “Freedom of religion” is meaningless if people don’t have “freedom of conscience” and even these latter freedom requires various options if it is to be an authentic choice.
