SEL is not enough...

Humanity has become unmoored from its origins and roots. The listlessness of modern social media provides us with little to no meaning other than some perceived social connectiveness and some perceived experiential existentialism.  To be 'liked,' to chat with bots, and to be part of a supposed group of Internet 'friends,' does not bring much (deeper) meaning, explain experience, or bring transcendent bliss.

Yoga and mindfulness have crept into this parochial Western society through side doors as alternatives to ecclesiastical experiences. They too have been stripped of their origins and true designs for the sake of 'secularizing' them in a majority-Christian society with much insecurity and heresy phobia.

The humanities used to be a place where kids could look... learn... ...and become.  Nationalistic histories, STEM job-training schools/colleges, and fear of multiculturalism and/or cultural pluralism have tried to purge even the traditional humanities to the side.  Everyone is to be a 'scientist' and producer of 'economic output.'  The 'self' and its exploration suffers in a desert of no reference(s) and no roots.  Only the Internet with its insatiable desire to sell us ads and vacuous-short-dance videos for 'looks', 'likes', and 'subscribers' becomes the dour haven of many a lost child and soul.

Joseph Campbell left us a gift that was aired only after his death.  It was a revolution in the summer of 1988. It ignites the mind and roots the soul into the many soils upon which humanity's cultural traditions commenced.

The six videos are here.  You, and everyone else who watches these, will never be the same.  There is no return.
