Everything you learn can make you dumber. (Less open) Governments can be evil. Lies do exist. People do manipulate.

BUT constitutions, governments, civic engagement, science, investigation, collaboration, research, communication, and democratic processes do allow civilizations to build on the body of knowledge and expand understanding.

Nihilistic existentialism does not raise conspiratorial thinking to the highest order.

Knowing is advancing. Evidence can be seen. We should continually learn lest we forget.
